A wonder of Washington.
Accessible only by ferry, the San Juan Islands consists of a staggering 172 islands. Some of which are only visible during extreme low tide. The islands are famous for their resident pods of Orca Whales. The shorelines are a combination of sandy, pebbly and rocky beaches, offering clumps of bull kelp, tangles of ceday, madrona and fir driftwood.
